JUST IN:Ravens coach announced the return of another super star this morning

On Monday, the first day of NFL free agency, running backs flew off the board. But as the sun rises on Day 2, maybe the most accomplished back of them all is still available.

According to one rumor, as of late Monday, the Ravens had a current offer on the table for something “in the range of $6.5 million per year.” It is unclear whether this is a multi-year contract for the aggressive back, 30, who finished strong last season with the Tennessee Titans and has two rushing titles to his name.

There was speculation that Baltimore might offer Henry a two-year, $20 million contract, but that has apparently not happened. We don’t know, however, whether even that figure would mark a significant salary cut for Henry, who is coming off a $12.5 million season with Tennessee.

He is also coming off a productive year. Henry ran for 1,167 yards on 280 carries and scored 12 touchdowns. Last year, his average yards per carry was 4.2, down from his career average of 4.7, but this could be attributed to the Titans’ offensive line’s bad season more than anything else.

According to Spotrac.com, Henry’s market value for a one-year contract is $10.3 million, which could be a problem for Baltimore given the team’s existing cap space.
