After more than three months out, D’Tigers guard Gabe Vincent is expected to play on Sunday at the Barclays Center against the Brooklyn Nets.

The Los Angeles Lakers player had to have knee surgery, which has kept him out of action till December 20, 2023.

NBA insider Shams Chanaria said that the former Miami Heat guard is traveling with the Lakers and will see the Good Friday game against the Pacers but will not be participating.

“Sources tell @TheAthletic, @Stadium that Lakers guard Gabe Vincent is likely to play against the Nets on Sunday barring a setback. He is due to join the team on their current road trip. Vincent had knee surgery on December 20 and hasn’t been back since.

After failing to resign with the Heat and entering free agency, Vincent signed a three-year, $33 million contract with the Lakers during the off-season.

The 27-year-old had a key role in the Heat’s 2023 NBA Finals journey to the championship game, where they were ultimately defeated 4-1 by Nikola Jokic’s Denver Nuggets.

With his performance hampered by injury, Vincent, who led the D’Tigers to the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, has had a sluggish start to life in Los Angeles. Only five games have he played for the Lakers.
