The Dallas Cowboys have let their top running back to leave the team and enter free agency for the second time in two offseasons.
It was Ezekiel Elliott the previous year. Tony Pollard is likely to sign a three-year, $24 million free-agent contract with the Tennessee Titans on Monday, per numerous reports.
Through the “Pollard Plan,” the Cowboys sought to keep the running back, but it appears the Titans outbid them.
With Pollard gone, the only players remaining on the depth chart for running backs are Rico Dowdle, Malik Davis, Deuce Vaughn, Hunter Luepke, and Snoop Conner. Put another way, the Cowboys are formally looking for a feature back in 2024 and will probably prioritize selecting a player in the NFL Draft the following month. They might also try to sign a free agent who is similar to Saquon Barkley, Aaron Jones, Derrick Henry, or possibly Elliott?
