As Wake Forest gets ready to play the Pitt Panthers this week, they are dealing with a thin quarterback’s room.

The starting quarterback for Wake Forest versus Pitt is redshirt sophomore Santino Marucci. The two quarterbacks who started the season atop Wake Forest’s depth chart were not on the field warming up before the mid-afternoon kickoff. According to Les Johns of Demon Deacon Digest, Marucci will receive his first start from them.

In Wake Forest’s final game against Virginia Tech, Michael Kern and Mitch Griffis alternated at center field until Kern left with a shoulder injury. He will likely be absent for several weeks. Griffis was dubious all week after receiving a knock against the Hokies.
