
The Los Angeles Kings earned a playoff spot by playing like a playoff team against the Calgary Flames on Thursday night. The Kings dominated the 4-1 game on the west coast.

Smothering was one way to describe the Kings’ performance, as they kept the Flames off the scoreboard until nearly halfway through the third period. The Flames did not have a spoiler role to play tonight.
But at least they managed to smile.
Jonathan Huberdeau shared a chuckle with one of the officials shortly before the Kings scored on a powerplay in the first period.
