The Pittsburgh Steelers are unlikely to sign the Raiders wide receiver.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are apparently seeking for an experienced wide receiver to join George Pickens this season. So far, names like Brandon Aiyuk and Tee Higgins have surfaced, but an intriguing name that has been speculated about throughout the summer is Davante Adams.
Unfortunately for those who hoped Adams might finally make his way to the Steelers, it appears that ship has departed.
Tashan Reed of The Athletic approached Adams during his youth football camp and inquired about a possible trade. Adams denied any speculations, adding, “If I wanted to leave, I would have left by now. “This is where I want to be.”
Last week, All Steelers Talk analyzed a potential trade between the Steelers and the Las Vegas Raiders, concluding that Pittsburgh could get the veteran for a lower price than most other trade choices. That’s all but over now that Adams has officially stated his desire to stay.
Adams, 31, is coming off a 1,144-yard season that included eight touchdowns. In 2022, he scored a league-high 14 points, demonstrating that he still has more in the tank after his first year with the Raiders.
The Steelers have been linked to Aiyuk in recent weeks, and if Adams is no longer an option, they will most likely pursue a deal with the San Francisco 49ers instead.
