The Minnesota Wild have signed goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury, who is second in NHL goalie wins, to a one-year, $2.5 million contract deal for next season.
The contract was confirmed on Wednesday, one day before the season finale against the visiting Seattle Kraken.
Fleury is 17-14-5 this season, with two shutouts, a 2.98 goals-against average, and a.895 save percentage in 39 games (35 starts), his 20th in the NHL.
“I’ve been asked a lot, by fans, media, friends and family, what’s next for me,” Fleury said in an interview. “This is good. I won’t have to discuss it again for another year. The following year will be (my) last.
