Murphy is now suggesting that the Brewers are taking measures with Miley, who has a history of missing extended periods of time due to injury.

“(Miley) played catch, played through it, and hasn’t had a problem since,” Murphy told The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s Todd Rosiak. “We want to proceed slowly due to his history. … Everything pains for him. “It happens when you’re 50.”

Miley, 37, has yet to make an appearance in the Cactus League during spring training.

Miley is entering his 14th MLB season, his third with the Brewers. While he hasn’t appeared in an All-Star Game since 2012, Miley has a 42-24 record with a 3.43 ERA and 10.7 WAR over the last six years.
