The automated doors to the St. Louis Blues’ locker room opened around 11 a.m. Thursday, and the media did what we typically do after a morning skate on game day: disperse among the players and do a few interviews.
I noticed Jordan Kyrou sitting alone in his stall.
It had been just over 24 hours since the Blues sacked Craig Berube and hired Drew Bannister. Kyrou was someone Berube pushed and encouraged to deliver, which can frequently result in a strained relationship between a player and his coach. As a reporter who spends a lot of time with the team, I’ve been questioned about this relationship on several times.
