Following Friday’s practice, Head Coach Mario Cristobal spoke with the media and addressed the report of safety Jamal Hill and DJ James firing air-soft guns at bystanders from a truck.
“You’ve probably got inquiries regarding the two people who had a disagreement. “Those guys are suspended indefinitely until further notice, and when the time comes, I will notify you,” Cristobal told reporters after practice.
Hill and James did not practice Friday, and their absence, however long it lasts, may have a huge impact on Oregon’s defense. Deommodore Lenoir, the Ducks’ cornerback from last season, is now in training camp with the San Francisco 49ers.
Mykael Wright, a sophomore cornerback who has been named to watch lists for both the Paul Hornung and Jim Thorpe awards, is the position’s most experienced player. Following him, James appeared to be a very obvious pick for the starting lineup.
