Auburn football’s spring transfer site is getting much better.
The Auburn coaching staff added an offensive lineman from the transfer portal after adding a playmaking wide out and boosting the defense.
Auburn has secured the commitment of Ronan Chambers, a former Akron Zips offensive tackle. Chambers has one year left of eligibility. He announced his decision on social media on Monday.
Chambers entered the transfer portal in January and had offers from Western Kentucky, Utah State, Appalachian State, and BYU. He’s been committed to Tulane since April 9. He switched his commitment to Auburn. He is listed at six feet six and 290 pounds.
Chambers posted a commitment graphic saying “War Eagle” with him sporting an Auburn jersey wearing number 74 on his social media.
Auburn’s offensive line seems to be set. Chambers may be a depth component for Auburn’s big players up front and provide depth in 2024.
Auburn’s front five appeared consistent throughout the spring. The most constant lineup from left to right was Percy Lewis, Dillon Wade, Connor Lew, Jeremiah Wright, and Izavion Miller. Chambers is Auburn’s second offensive lineman to join the team through the transfer portal this offseason; Lewis arrived in December.
In the spring window, Auburn has now added Indiana defensive lineman Philip Blidi, USC/Texas A&M defensive lineman Isaiah Raikes, Arkansas State EDGE Keyron Crawford, and Penn State wide receiver KeAndre Lambert-Smith. Hugh Freeze and the Tigers have added 14 overall transfers this offseason.
