Brad Morkos and Harley Smith-Shields (Raider #367) have been released by the Canberra Raiders from the last year of their contracts.
Smith-Shields, who played 15 NRL games with the Raiders between 2020 and 2023, will seize an opportunity with another NRL team.
In Round 11, 2020, Smith-Shields, a local kid, made his NRL debut for the team against the South Sydney Rabbitohs.
The Canberra Raiders would like to thank Harley and Brad for their time at the club and wish them all the best for the future.
Smith-Shields shared the 2021 Canberra Raiders Rookie of the Year title with Matt Timoko. On the evening of the 2022 Meninga Medal presentation, he was also presented with the Geoff Caldwell Welfare and Education title.
After recovering from an ACL injury during the 2022 preseason, Smith-Shields battled his way back into the NRL squad at the start of the 2023 season, appearing in six NRL games.
Morkos played 40 games for the Raiders NSW Cup team during his two seasons with the team, winning the NSW Cup Coaches’ Award in 2023.
