The Canterbury best player has declared his career is over……

In response to speculations about Raymond Faitala-Mariner, Bulldogs manager Phil Gould has stated that the club captain would not be given an early release from his contract.

The Sydney Morning Herald earlier this week revealed that the important forward might be moving next year, even though he is a valued player of the team and his contract is set to expire at the end of 2025.

Faitala-Mariner and off-season addition Ryan Sutton, who are both having a rough season, were reportedly granted permission to speak with opposing teams.

The 30-year-old Kiwi player has battled back to the Canterbury starting lineup after a difficult run of injuries in recent years. He featured in 14 games for Canterbury this season.
