This upcoming season, Georgia Bulldog fans may notice a new menu item offered at concession kiosks inside Sanford Stadium. Beer! According to reports, the University would allow the sale of alcoholic beverages including seltzers and beer from the start of the 2024 season.

The move will undoubtedly come as a huge relief to many of Georgia’s of-age Bulldog supporters, as the school was one of the last in the SEC to prohibit the beverage from being sold in football stadiums. This, of course, does not include the Bulldogs’ basketball arena, Stegman Coliseum, which has been selling the beverage since the 2021 and 2022 seasons.

The University’s decision to allow beer sales is presumably motivated by the promise of more money, public pressure, and the Bulldogs’ record-breaking attendance at home games in recent seasons. Since the 2021 season, the Bulldogs have sold out all of their home games.
