Veteran point guard Isaiah Thomas’ prospective return to the NBA allegedly took a significant step forward on Tuesday.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, Thomas has agreed to a deal with the G League’s Salt Lake City Stars:

Thomas had struggled to secure an NBA deal following the 2019-20 season due to a 2017 hip injury that ruined his career. He appeared in three games for the New Orleans Pelicans during the 2020-21 season after signing a 10-day deal, but was not given another chance after that.
The two-time All-Star enjoyed his best statistical stretch with the Boston Celtics from 2015-16 to 2016-17. He averaged 24.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 6.0 assists per game while with the Celtics.
