“It looked like last year that when Jack Wighton decided to leave the club that, it’s the end thing, you know, we can’t see past that,” Slater stated.

“Yet occasionally, when things go wrong at your team and players leave, even if you may not be able to replace them, something else occurs and it turns out to be a godsend.

“This young man, in my opinion, is a true player of the future. That’s not to say he wouldn’t be a valuable addition to the Raiders. I had a great time watching him play.”
