The wide receiver position has officially been assigned to the former star quarterback from Louisville, as stated by Ryan Mink, editorial director of the Ravens.
During the first week of Baltimore’s OTAs, Mink reported that Cunningham worked with the wideouts and “made some impressive catches and was often targeted in Thursday’s practice.”
After the 2023 NFL Draft, the 6-foot-1, 198-pound signal caller was originally selected by the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent. Although he signed a three-year contract with the Patriots in October of last year, he primarily served on the practice squad in Foxboro. He played six snaps in their Week Six battle at the Raiders, which was his only appearance with the New England Patriots.
The Ravens then signed Cunningham off of their roster in December.
Cunningham was able to break or match a few Louisville records during his six years as a Cardinal, however teammate Lamar Jackson of the Ravens still retains several of them. His 12,848 career yards are second only to Jackson’s, and his 50 career running touchdowns are tied with the former Heisman Trophy winner. Of all the touchdowns he has been responsible for, his 120 are the most in Louisville history.
After Walter Peacock and Jackson, his 3,184 rushing yards rank third in school history. His 9,664 career passing yards rank fourth, while his 70 career passing touchdowns rank fifth.
