The Chicago Cubs’ situation has deteriorated.
Everyone knows the terrible stretch they had to close out the month of May, which knocked them out of the third Wild Card berth and numerous games away from first place in their division.

When the calendar turned to June, everyone hoped they could put their troubles behind them and resume playing the thrilling baseball they had shown earlier in the season.
