The announcement was officially made on Friday. The football field of the Alabama Crimson Tide will bear the name of former head coach Nick Saban. The home field for the Crimson Tide will henceforth be called Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
The field will be renamed in honor of Saban by the Crimson Tide on September 7. That weekend, Alabama will host the South Florida Bulls in Tuscaloosa.
One of the all-time greats in college football coaching is Nick Saban. In his final season as Alabama’s head coach, Nick Saban’s team finished 201-29 overall and 161-33 in conference play.
