Roosters veteran Michael Jennings reveal two reason why he will miss two games

Michael Jennings, a Roosters veteran, is expected to miss the next two games following a contentious high tackle on Manly winger Jason Saab in Saturday night’s encounter.

The 36-year-old was penalized and reported for the incident in the first half, in which Saab left the field for an HIA and did not return.

Jennings has been charged with grade two reckless high tackle and will miss a fortnight after entering an early guilty plea.

Anthony Seibold was nasty for not sending Jennings to the sin bin, especially because the Sea Eagles lost one of their striking weapons in the 34-30 loss.

“Definitely … the Roosters bloke gets put on report but that doesn’t help us,” added the captain.

“We receive no benefit from just receiving the penalty. It’s foul play, we lose a player; I expected that to be a sin bin, but it wasn’t tonight for some reason.”

The 2024 NRL premiership will be broadcast live and for free on Nine and 9Now.

Trent Robinson, the opposing coach, was unsure of the gravity of the situation.

“I don’t think so, to be honest. “I think that was minimal,” he stated.

“What happened to Jason was unfortunate, but it appeared to be minor and unintentional. It struck him in the correct spot and then slid… but that’ll be up to someone else.”

The match review committee charged Sitili Tupouniua and Corey Waddell in connection with the same match, but they will only face fines.

Kurtis Morrin will be fined $3000 for an altercation in Canterbury’s win over Brisbane, but he may miss two games if he fights the charge and loses.
