These three players suffered their respective injuries while training outside of the team facility. They can return to practice at any point, but if they are not ready for the start of the season they can go on the Reserve/Non-Football Injury list and not count against the 53-man roster. However, they would have to miss at least the first four games of the season.
Ayedze (6-4, 309 pounds) was signed by the Eagles as a rookie free agent out of Maryland following the 2024 NFL Draft.
Davis (6-5, 215 pounds) joined the Eagles this offseason on a Reserve/Future contract. He was a rookie free agent of the Saints last season out of South Carolina State and spent time on New Orleans’ practice squad.
DeJean, the Eagles’ second-round pick (40th overall) in the 2024 NFL Draft, recorded 120 tackles and seven interceptions in three years with Iowa. The defensive back is expected to miss several weeks, but the Eagles are not concerned about how that will impact his development.
“We’re bummed. That’s our second-round pick and we want to see him out here on the first day, but we also think this guy is going to be with us here for a long time,” Executive Vice President/General Manager Howie Roseman said. “We have tremendous confidence in his ability to pick things up and to come back and kind of keep running. Obviously, it’s a long season and we’re counting on him.”
The difference here is that Brown suffered the injury to his knee in the regular-season finale against the New York Giants, but the parameters are still largely the same – if Brown is not ready to be on the field for the start of the season, the Eagles can place him on the Reserve/PUP list.
