Dublin fans are preparing for tomorrow night’s AC/DC concert in Croke Park, by visiting the band’s pop-up shop in the city centre.
The legendary rockers bring the curtain down on their ‘Power Up’ European Tour with the eagerly awaited gig in Dublin.Fans have travelled from far and wide to see the band in Croker and the official AC/DC pop-up shop, at the Central Plaza on Dame Street, is open until Sunday.Chris, from Manchester, was in the store today and will be seeing the band take to the stage for the first time ever tomorrow night“I’ve never been to Dublin before, and I always wanted to do it. This seemed like the perfect excuse. I always wanted to see AC/DC, they’re a bucket list band,” he said.
“It might be the biggest gig I’ve ever been to, there’ll be like 80,000 people.”John and Doug took a plane from Arizona to London and then onto Dublin, just to catch the gig.“AC/DC brought us here to Dublin, we haven’t been here before,” they said.
“I’ve seen them at least 12 times,” Doug added. “They’re the best band on the planet. They’re no frills, rock and roll. They don’t have a bad song. We’re hoping they come to America soon.
John added: “Every person in the crowd is enjoying every minute of the show. We hope it’s not the last gig, that’s why we’re here.”
Wayne, from Portsmouth, was also shopping for some AC/DC merch today
“I always wanted to go to Dublin anyway. I got these tickets as back-up in case I didn’t get Wembley tickets, but then we got both,” he said.
“As straight rock bands go, there’s nothing better, there are no better soundtracks. I’ve got a front standing golden circle ticket so it’s going to be my most up-close AC/DC gig.
“It’s a distilled, good time rock and roll vibe. They do it better than anyone else. There’s so much personality, honesty and a bit of cheekiness in there, I love it.
“I’ve been listening to them for more than 20 years. I want to get a Dublin specific tour t-shirt if it’s here, but I’ll definitely be buying something.”
Richard travelled from Munich for the final concert of the band’s European tour.
