JUST IN: Michigan famously holds the record for the most wins in college football history

Michigan Wolverines indeed hold the record for the most wins in college football history. With a rich history spanning over 140 years, the team has accumulated an impressive number of victories. Since their first intercollegiate football game in 1879, the Wolverines have been a dominant force in college football.¹

Their winning tradition can be attributed to the legendary coaches who have led the team over the years. Iconic coaches like Fielding H. Yost, Fritz Crisler, and Bo Schembechler have all contributed to Michigan’s success. Yost, in particular, had a remarkable tenure, posting a 165-29-10 record and winning ten conference championships and six national championships during his time.

Today, the Michigan Wolverines continue to be a powerhouse in college football, with a loyal fan base and a commitment to excellence on and off the field.
