  1. Los Angeles Lakers Acquire Jordan Clarkson in Trade with Utah Jazz

Los Angeles, CA – In a move aimed at bolstering their backcourt, the Los Angeles Lakers have acquired guard Jordan Clarkson from the Utah Jazz. The trade involves sending guards Gabe Vincent and Jalen Hood-Schifino, along with a 2025 second-round pick, to Utah in exchange for Clarkson.

Clarkson, 32, began his NBA career with the Lakers after being drafted in 2014. Over four seasons in Los Angeles, he averaged 14.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game. His tenure with the Lakers was marked by his scoring prowess and significant contributions off the bench.

Since joining the Jazz, Clarkson has continued to excel, earning the NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award in 2021. This season, he is averaging 15.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game, primarily coming off the bench.

The Lakers have been seeking to enhance their perimeter scoring and depth, especially with Anthony Davis’s recent absence due to injury. Clarkson’s ability to create offense and provide a spark off the bench addresses these needs.

For the Jazz, the trade facilitates the development of younger talent and offers future assets in exchange for a veteran contributor. The incoming players and draft pick align with Utah’s strategic focus on rebuilding and asset accumulation.

Lakers General Manager Rob Pelinka expressed enthusiasm about reuniting with Clarkson, stating, “Jordan’s scoring ability and experience make him a valuable addition to our roster as we push for a strong postseason run.”

The Lakers are currently on a road trip, with their next game scheduled against the Orlando Magic on March 24, 2025. Clarkson is expected to join the team shortly and could make his debut in the upcoming games.
