University Park, PA – Penn State University has announced that head wrestling coach Cael Sanderson has signed a five-year contract extension, securing his position with the Nittany Lions through the 2029-2030 season. The new deal underscores the university’s commitment to maintaining its dominance in collegiate wrestling and ensuring the continued success of one of the most celebrated programs in the nation.

Sanderson, who has been at the helm of the Penn State wrestling program since 2009, has transformed the Nittany Lions into a powerhouse. Under his leadership, the team has won multiple NCAA titles, with Sanderson himself being widely regarded as one of the greatest wrestlers and coaches in the history of the sport. He led Penn State to national championships in 2011, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2019, cementing his legacy as a top-tier coach in the NCAA.
