BREAKINGNEWS: VOLS WIN- TENNESSEE- Beats Ole Miss Friday Night on the Road for the Victory!!

In a thrilling Friday night showdown, the No. 5 Tennessee Volunteers baseball team edged out the No. 6 Ole Miss Rebels 3–2 at Swayze Field in Oxford, Mississippi. This victory improved Tennessee’s record to 30–4 overall and 10–3 in SEC play.

The game remained scoreless until the fifth inning when Tennessee broke through with a pair of runs, capitalizing on a fielding error and a well-placed single. Ole Miss responded in the bottom of the sixth, narrowing the gap with a solo home run. Tennessee added an insurance run in the eighth, which proved crucial as Ole Miss managed another run in the ninth before Tennessee’s closer, Dylan Loy, secured the final out to preserve the win.

Liam Doyle earned the win for Tennessee, pitching six strong innings with eight strikeouts and allowing just one run. Hunter Elliott took the loss for Ole Miss, despite a solid performance. Dylan Loy notched his first save of the season, showcasing composure under pressure.

The Volunteers and Rebels continue their series this weekend, with games scheduled for Saturday and Sunday. Tennessee aims to maintain its momentum, while Ole Miss looks to bounce back and even the series.
