In a surprising turn of events, Kentucky Wildcats guard Travis Perry has decided to withdraw from the NCAA transfer portal and remain with the team for the upcoming season. This decision comes after Perry had initially entered the portal, seeking more playing time following a freshman season where he averaged 2.7 points per game in 9.8 minutes over 31 appearances.
Perry, a 6-foot-2 combo guard from Eddyville, Kentucky, was the state’s all-time leading scorer in high school basketball and a four-star recruit. He had been considering other programs, including Ole Miss and Maryland, but has now opted to stay with the Wildcats.
The Wildcats are expected to continue building their roster for the 2025–26 season, with the addition of transfer guard Ryan Forrest from North Carolina A&T being a possibility.
Perry’s decision to stay with Kentucky provides the Wildcats with depth in the backcourt as they prepare for the upcoming season.
