Bo Melton, following his standout performance in the Green Bay Packers’ 33-10 victory over the Minnesota Vikings, has been elevated to the active roster. The move, announced on Monday, involves Melton being signed from the practice squad, while wide receiver Samori Toure is placed on injured reserve. Additionally, safety Tyler Coyle has been signed to the practice squad.
Melton’s impressive display against the Vikings, where he caught six passes for 105 yards, earned him praise from coach Matt LaFleur. He received a game ball and scored his first career touchdown on a 9-yard catch in the third quarter, marking the first 100-yard receiving performance by any Packers player this season.
LaFleur commended Melton’s attitude, approach, team-first mentality, and work ethic. Melton, who spent most of the season on the practice squad, had been activated for four games. He joined the Packers late in the 2022 season after being signed off Seattle’s practice squad. Despite the challenges of being on the practice squad, Melton emphasized the importance of maintaining a positive mindset and practicing hard every day.
In the last two games, Melton has accumulated 10 receptions for 149 yards, showcasing a significant contribution. Before this stretch, he had just one career catch for 7 yards. Toure, a seventh-round pick from Nebraska in 2022, will be sidelined with eight catches for 78 yards this season.
