LATEST NEWS: Its shocking, he have been charged with sexual assualt

The case was scheduled to be heard in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Friday, but neither Robati nor his legal representation appeared.

Senior Constable Michael Colclough, the police prosecutor, informed the court that the mediation with Robati would not be progressing.

Magistrate Andrew Moloney inquired if the case would proceed as a summary or an indictable matter, with the latter being more serious and needing a higher court.

“It depends whether he pleads guilty or not,” Colclough said.

Mr Moloney stated that notice would be sent to Robati’s legal counsel, and that the case would be delayed until February 14, with his release on bail continuing.

Robati could enter a plea next month, or the case could go to a committal hearing to decide whether there are sufficient grounds to proceed to trial in District Court.

Robati, who was born in New Zealand, could play as a second-rower or middle forward and shined in his 2021 NRL debut season, featuring in 10 games.
