Harbaugh and the Wolverines recently completed a 15-0 season, which included a national championship victory over Washington in Houston. No sooner had the confetti fallen on the field than the annual Harbaugh-to-the-NFL rumors began.
The NFL Network has linked the Michigan coach to the vacant Chargers and Raiders, which would mark his return to the West Coast after stints with Stanford in college and San Francisco in the NFL. The Chargers and Raiders are both desperate to catch the Chiefs in the AFC West, and they will undoubtedly make a splashy hire. No hire would be more eye-catching than Harbaugh, who has achieved success in both college and the NFL.
In the midst of contract extension rumors, Michigan athletic director Warde Manuel stated that he is “working on getting [Harbaugh] a new contract.” Whatever happens to Harbaugh, the other shoe must drop sooner rather than later.
