The Jefferson City Convention and Visitors Bureau announced the financial gain of the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) Track and Field Championships last May.
The event was held at Jefferson City High School on two weekends, May 17-18 and May 24-25.
The JCCVB said that 24,000 people came to the Capital City for the events and brought $4,978,520 in economic impact.
“Jefferson City has been the home for the MSHSAA Track and Field Championships for many years. We deeply appreciate the partnership with the Jefferson City Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Athletic Events Committee, and the Jefferson City Public Schools in making the event the premier showcase for high school track and field in the state of Missouri,” said MSHSAA Executive Director Jennifer Rukstad, in a press release.
The 2024 event was the 48th year for the Championships to be held in Jefferson City.
