Noah Brown’s first season with the Houston Texans is done.
The Texans have placed Brown on the injured reserve list, thereby ending his season. Brown signed a one-year contract with Houston after spending six seasons with the Dallas Cowboys.
Brown suffered a shoulder injury in the first quarter of Houston’s 45-14 wild-card round win over the Cleveland Browns on Saturday at NRG Stadium and did not return.
During the first series, quarterback C.J. Stroud attempted to connect with Brown on a third-and-9 play to get a first down. Brown clashed with two Cleveland defenders, resulting in a Cameron Johnston punt.
Brown stayed on the ground for a few moments before returning to the sidelines. He went into the medical tent for additional evaluation.
Brown was limited in practice leading up to Houston’s playoff game after injuring his back in Week 17’s victory over the Tennessee Titans. He was inactive for the playoff-clinching win over the Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium in Week 18.
“It’s been a heck of a year and I thank God, I can just go another week with my teammates,” Stroud said in a statement. “This is like a dream come true.”
The Texans are awaiting the outcome of Monday’s playoff game to determine where they will travel for the divisional round. If the Pittsburgh Steelers pull off an upset, Houston will travel to Kansas City to play the Chiefs.
Should the Buffalo Bills secure the win, the Texans will head to Baltimore to face the top-seeded Ravens.
