The Tennessee Titans had a frustrating 2023 season, finishing 6-11, and their poor performance led to the firing of head coach Mike Vrabel.
It may soon result in another key departure.
Derrick Henry, the Titans’ star running back, is about to become an unrestricted free agent, and given the questions the team faces moving forward, there appears to be a good chance he will leave for greener pastures.
On “Bussin’ With The Boys,” Henry stated that he wants to continue playing and hopes to play for a team that can win the Super Bowl.
That appears to rule the Titans out of the Henry sweepstakes, as they have a major question mark at quarterback — veteran Ryan Tannehill isn’t what he once was, and the jury is still out on rookie Will Levis.

The big question, however, is whether another team will offer Henry the type of contract he wants and deserves in order to convince him to leave Tennessee.
The NFL’s running back market has collapsed, and a number of star players at the position have notably held out during training camp in search of a lucrative extension, only to be denied one.
Henry rushed for 1,167 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, and while he may not have much tread left on his tires now that he has turned 30, he should still be able to contribute.
After suffering a Jones fracture in 2021, he has been mostly healthy over the last two seasons, which is a good sign given how difficult the running back position is.
