Alabama football had some extra players as it began practice for its Rose Bowl matchup against Michigan. Several early enrollees from the class of 2024 are taking part.

Julian Sayin, a five-star quarterback, is among them. On Tuesday, Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe was asked about Sayin after three bowl practices.

“He spins the ball really well,” said Milroe. “It’s been great having him in the room, having another guy in the room.” With everything, I’m just glad to have another brother in the room. He’s doing an excellent job of practicing. He’s a nice guy.”

Milroe, a 2021 class member from Alabama, was also an early enrollee. He stated that the experience would be useful in mentoring Sayin.

“I’ve been in his shoes, being a freshman coming into college,” she said. “All I can try to do is give him the information that I’ve gotten and really allow him to be a sponge with all the information that I have and just be a good teammate for him.”

Sayin will be among Alabama’s first round of signees during the early signing period on Wednesday. He chose Alabama over Ohio State, Arizona, and Auburn, among other schools.

Sayin is the No. 1 quarterback in the 2024 class, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. According to the service, he is ranked fifth in the country.

Sayin attended Carlsbad High School in Carlsbad, California. During his senior year, he was named MVP of the Elite 11 finals.

Milroe is returning to Alabama for the upcoming season, so Sayin will most likely have to sit for at least one year in Tuscaloosa. This year, Milroe and his Alabama teammates won the SEC championship game, advancing to the College Football Playoff semifinals as the No. 4 seed.

On January 1, Alabama will face Michigan in the Rose Bowl. In the national championship game, the winner will face either Texas or Washington.
