The Kansas City Chiefs won another nail-biting play-off game against the Buffalo Bills, keeping them on track for their fourth Super Bowl appearance in five years.

The rematch lived up to the expectations, with Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen engaging in another quarterback battle until the defending champions hung on for a 27-24 victory in a nail-biting finish.

Kansas City has eliminated the Bills from the playoffs for the third time in four years, and this time it happened in Buffalo.

The Chiefs will compete in the AFC Championship game for the sixth consecutive year, hoping to become the first club to win back-to-back NFL crowns since the 2003 and 2004 seasons.

Earlier, the Detroit Lions defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 31-23, advancing to the NFC Championship game for the second time.

On Sunday, both they and the Chiefs will go to the top seed in their respective conferences, with Kansas City facing the Baltimore Ravens at 20:00 GMT and Detroit facing the San Francisco 49ers at 23:30.
