Heard ranked third among offensive tackles in the 2023 cycle and 51st overall in the 2023 class. He was one of the best offensive linemen in the portal and appeared in 12 games for the Tigers in 2023. Players were transferring away, thus the Volunteers needed some assistance on the offensive line. Heard still has three years left to be eligible, and he’ll probably start right away. He represents the sixth participant that the program has reached via the portal.

2024 Prospects
Tennessee has the unfavorable assignment of hosting both Georgia and Alabama during the regular season. In addition, there are still games against NC State, Florida, and Oklahoma. The Crimson Tide won’t be easy to beat, even with Nick Saban retired. The goal for the Bulldogs is to reclaim the conference. The Volunteers are not new to this. You have to defeat the best to win the SEC.

In the SEC, are the Tennessee Volunteers capable of creating a stir? The conference is harsh, but they have a lot of quality.
