SNY | Andy Martino: The market for reliever Hector Neris is growing. Martino adds that the Yankees are still interested in the right-hander, but the Mets are also interested at “[Neris’] asking price — which, according to sources, is for one or two years at $7-11 million per year.” Wandy Peralta, another Yankees target, has apparently been in contact with the Mets. The Mets, the Yankees’ crosstown foe, appear to be interested in adding a reliever, as they have been linked to Adam Ottavino and Aroldis Chapman.
MLB.com| Bryan Hoch: Nestor Cortes and Carlos Rodón have reported to Yankees facilities in Tampa ahead of the team’s February 14 pitching and catcher report date, hoping to prove that their disappointing 2023 seasons were a fluke. Brian Cashman feels excited about what he has seen and heard. “The feedback I’m getting is really good, that his arm action is good,” Cashman went on to say. “[Rodón] appears to have worked extremely hard. I have high hopes that Rodón will be able to regain his form.” The general manager stated that he does not believe Cortes’ and Rodón’s respective abilities vanished last year, and that with a healthy spring, both should perform well in 2024.

So The Athletic projected the Yankees’ starting lineup, with DJ LeMahieu leading off, Judge second, Soto third, and Gleyber Torres cleaning up. Giancarlo Stanton drops to sixth in this estimate.
