Wests Tigers have released winger David Nofoaluma from the final two years of his contract.
The Tigers issued a statement on Tuesday stating that the 30-year-old’s contract had been terminated by mutual consent.
Nofoaluma made his NRL debut for the Wests Tigers in 2013, and he played 192 games for the club, scoring 100 tries.
Meanwhile, Broncos hooker Tyson Smoothy has extended his contract with the club for another year, keeping him in Brisbane until at least the end of 2025.
The 24-year-old made 13 appearances for Kevin Walters’ side last season and was scheduled to leave at the end of the current season.
The Rabbitohs have re-signed utility Peter Mamouzelos for three years, till the end of the 2027 season.
Mamouzelos made his NRL debut for the Rabbitohs against the Knights in 2021 and has since appeared seven times in the top grade.
The 23-year-old was instrumental in South Sydney’s NSW Cup title and NRL State Championship victory in 2023.
“I’m really excited to be extending my time with this club,” Mamouzelos stated.
“I told my management that I didn’t want to go someplace else. I grew up in South Sydney, and this has always been my team. I adore this club.”
Meanwhile, the Dragons have strengthened their halves depth by signing playmaker Jesse Marschke for the 2024 season.
The 26-year-old has appeared 72 times in the NSW Cup, scoring 18 tries, and last year helped the Bears reach the grand final.
“Jesse adds valuable depth to our spine and is coming off a strong season with the Bears,” Dragons head coach Shane Flanagan stated.
“We look forward to welcoming him to the club as we ramp up our preparations for the start of the 2024 season.”
Meanwhile, the Storm and Wests Tigers have agreed on a player swap that will see Justin Olam and Shawn Blore switch clubs before the 2024 season begins.
Both players have signed three-year contracts with their respective teams, with premiership-winning centre Olam leaving the Storm to join the Wests Tigers and Blore moving to Melbourne following three seasons with the joint venture.
After being released from the final year of his contract with the Panthers, Zac Hosking has signed a three-year contract with the Raiders that begins immediately.
The 26-year-old back-rower lands in the nation’s capital after playing a key role in Penrith’s premiership-winning season in 2023, appearing in 21 games.
Joel Carbone, Raiders NRL recruitment manager, believes Hosking will add skill and variety to Ricky Stuart’s team.
“In the brief time we’ve known Zac, and through watching him play in the NRL over the last few seasons, it’s evident that his work ethic, ability, and character will be great additions to our club,” Carbone said in a statement released by the Raiders.
“He also adds some versatility to our squad having played several positions in his career and we’re delighted to have him on board.”
Panthers Rugby League CEO Matt Cameron announced Hosking’s resignation from his contract, which stretched until the end of 2024, saying it would now allow the club to promote from within.
