DEAD END for Badgers Basketball Head Coach Cries out

As of February 21, 2025, there are no reports indicating that Wisconsin Badgers men’s basketball head coach Greg Gard has expressed concerns about a “dead end” situation for the team. In fact, the Badgers are experiencing a strong season, currently holding a 21–5 record and ranking 11th nationally.

 

A standout player this season is guard John Tonje, who has emerged as a leading candidate for Big Ten Player of the Year. Since transferring from Missouri, Tonje has significantly boosted his performance, averaging 19.6 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. His impressive shooting percentages and recent high-scoring games, including a career-high 41 points against Arizona, have been pivotal to the team’s success.

 

In their most recent game on February 18, 2025, the Badgers secured a decisive 95–74 victory over the Illinois Fighting Illini. Tonje led the team with 31 points, contributing to their fifth consecutive win.

 

Head coach Greg Gard, now in his 10th season with the Badgers, has been instrumental in the team’s achievements. Under his leadership, the Badgers have consistently been competitive in the Big Ten Conference
