Titans Doctor reveal latest update on Will Levis injury this morning

Tennessee Titans rookie quarterback Will Levis has started the past eight games since he took over for veteran Ryan Tannehill.

He’s had bouts of success during his first season in the NFL with a 3-5 record, 1,792 passing yards, eight passing touchdowns, and four interceptions.

But he picked up an ankle injury in the Titans’ Week 14 overtime loss to the Houston Texans and is at risk of missing Week 15 with that ailment.

Levis missed a second consecutive practice Thursday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, which leaves his status for this weekend completely up in the air.

If Levis can’t go, the Titans would likely turn back to Tannehill for at least the game against the Seattle Seahawks.

Tannehill started the first six games of the year and went 2-4 with 1,128 yards, two passing touchdowns, and six interceptions.

He started 55 of his past 57 games with the Titans, although his time could be over with the emergence of Levis.

The Titans were also mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, so they’re not playing for anything except pride or a better draft pick in April.

The Seahawks, meanwhile, are vying for a playoff spot and will have plenty to play for this weekend.

So if Levis can’t go, the Titans will have some interesting calls to make whether to test out some of their backups or go with their starters with the season already lost.

The hope would also likely be for Levis to return before the end of the year to continue to add to his playing reps as the likely 2024 starting quarterback.
