Netflix is set to release a documentary titled “The Heart of the South Carolina: A Journey Through Team and Band,” offering an intimate look into the University of South Carolina’s women’s basketball team’s journey during their 2024 championship season. The film promises to provide viewers with behind-the-scenes access, highlighting the team’s hard work, perseverance, and the bonds formed as they pursued their national championship goal.
Under the leadership of head coach Dawn Staley, the Gamecocks clinched their third consecutive and ninth overall Southeastern Conference (SEC) Tournament title on March 10, 2025, defeating Texas 64-45 in the final.
