LATEST NEWS: Sooners have just done it and

The Oklahoma Sooners coaching staff continues to travel the country, visiting high schools to analyze and present prospects for the 2025 and 2026 classes. On Wednesday morning, their most recent offer was extended to three-star recruit Tyler Williams of Sumner High in Riverview, Florida.

Williams is a two-way star for his high school squad, as he plays wide receiver on offense and free safety on defense. It’s unclear whether the Sooners are recruiting him for wide receiver, as most schools are offering Williams, but recruiting services appear to believe his college position is wide receiver.

Williams is an excellent wide receiver potential. He stands 6-foot-1 and weighs just less than 200 pounds. He’s a three-sport athlete, so athleticism isn’t lacking.

On the court, he averaged 8.4 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. He also competes in track and field, where he was a regional qualifier in the high jump, recording a personal best of 6-1.5.

On tape, he is a versatile wide receiver. He had a highlight reel block, won on a seam route from the slot, won consistently outside the numbers, and could high-point the ball at his peak. He also scored on a few screens and returned punts and kicks for touchdowns.
