At Long Last, the Philadelphia Flyers Appear to Be Rebuilding - The Hockey News - rta.com.co

In only two weeks, the New Jersey Devils will play in the NHL Stadium Series against the Philadelphia Flyers. Despite the excitement for fans and the franchise, the team is in turmoil. With the absence of important players on the roster and their poor play, the last thing they want to do is go outside and be disgraced by the Flyers in front of their supporters and on national television. So, they need players that can take command and help the club win, and here are a handful who fit the bill.

Tyler Toffoli
When Toffoli was acquired in the offseason in a deal with the Calgary Flames, the expectation was that he would be an outstanding linemate for Jack Hughes, and the two would form a solid line together following his 70-point season last year.

Unfortunately for Toffoli, he isn’t exactly producing like a 70-point scorer. He has two Devils hat tricks this year, so it’s not like he’s not performing poorly. Despite this, he is the team’s third-leading scorer, and this game would improve his confidence heading into the second half.

Toffoli has prior expertise with outdoor games, as demonstrated in the 2020 Stadium Series Game between the Los Angeles Kings and the Colorado Avalanche. Toffoli was the primary star, as he scored all three goals for the Kings, including one in the closing minute to put them up 2-1 and the empty netter for the hat trick. So this would be a perfect occasion for Toffoli to demonstrate to everyone that his trade was still thriving by playing a solid game outside.
