SPARKING NEWS: Texas A&M four-star LB commit visit Texas this weekend

According to Gerry Hamilton of On3, four-star linebacker and Texas A&M commit Tyanthony Smith has booked an official visit with the Texas Longhorns this weekend.

According to On3 Sports, Smith is the No. 37 linebacker and No. 62 overall player in the 2024 recruiting class.

Former A&M pledge Anthony Hill Jr. was flipped by Steve Sarkisian’s staff around this time last year and made an immediate impact for the Longhorns as a true freshman.

Smith was selected the district Defensive Player of the Year after recording four interceptions during the 2023 season.

247 Sports national scouting analyst Gabe Brooks characterized the four-star linebacker from Jasper, Texas, as a “bonafide Power Five-caliber linebacker” last year.

Last week, Texas defensive coordinator Pete Kwiatkowski also paid a visit to Jasper High School. Keep an eye out for a possible flip before the early signing period.
