April 14, 2025 – Netflix is gearing up to release a brand-new rock documentary that promises to captivate heavy metal fans around the globe. Titled The Time Has Come, the film offers a deep dive into the lives and careers of Wolf Hoffmann and Udo Dirkschneider, legendary figures in the world of hard rock and heavy metal.
Both men were key members of the pioneering German metal band Accept, a group that helped define the genre in the 1980s with hits like “Balls to the Wall” and “Fast as a Shark.” Hoffmann, known for his precision guitar work and classical influences, and Dirkschneider, with his unmistakable gravelly vocals and commanding stage presence, forged a path that influenced countless bands across Europe and beyond.
The Time Has Come goes far beyond the stage lights and record sales. Through rare archival footage, exclusive interviews, and candid behind-the-scenes moments, the documentary traces their beginnings in post-war Germany, the rise of Accept during the metal boom of the 1980s, and the complex relationship between the two musicians as their careers took different directions.
Directed by award-winning filmmaker Jonas Reuther, the documentary also explores the individual journeys of both artists after Accept.
