BREAKING NEWS: Kennedy Urlacher Enters Transfer Portal After Freshman Season at Notre Dame
SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Freshman safety Kennedy Urlacher has officially entered the NCAA transfer portal, bringing his time at Notre Dame to an end after just one season.
Urlacher, the son of NFL Hall of Famer Brian Urlacher, played in all 14 games during the 2024 season. He contributed 12 total tackles, one tackle for loss, a pass breakup, and a fumble recovery, showing promise in the Irish secondary.
A native of Chandler, Arizona, Urlacher arrived at Notre Dame as part of the 2024 recruiting class and still has three years of eligibility remaining. His decision marks Notre Dame’s first notable roster departure of the spring transfer window.
The Fighting Irish are expected to see more movement as the portal window progresses. Urlacher’s exit creates an opening in a young but talented defensive backfield heading into the 2025 season.
