In alignment with this strategy, Collingwood recently secured former St Kilda forward Tim Membrey. Membrey, a three-time leading goalkicker for the Saints, was delisted after 179 games. Recognizing his offensive capabilities and leadership qualities, Collingwood offered the 30-year-old a two-year contract. Membrey’s existing friendship with former Sydney teammate Tom Mitchell, now at Collingwood, played a role in his decision to join the Magpies. List manager Justin Leppitsch highlighted Membrey as a “key talent,” underscoring the club’s commitment to integrating seasoned players into their lineup.

To accommodate Membrey’s inclusion, Collingwood made roster adjustments, including the delisting of Oleg Markov and Ash Johnson. The club has expressed intentions to reselect them in the rookie draft if they remain unclaimed by other teams.
