Ezra Mam, a breakout playmaker, has become the latest Brisbane Bronco to commit long-term to the club, signing a five-year contract extension until the end of the 2029 season.
The 21-year-old dominated the NRL in his first full season in 2023, claiming the Broncos’ No.6 shirt with a run of spectacular performances.
In 2023, he made 25 NRL appearances, scoring 18 tries, 9 try assists, 10 line break assists, 56 tackle breaks, 9 offloads and 98 running metres per game. He also scored three tries in the Grand Final.
Mam joins a number of teammates who have committed to the club’s future until at least the end of 2025, including Payne Haas, Pat Carrigan, Reece Walsh, Jordan Riki, Brendan Piakura, Kotoni Staggs, Selwyn Cobbo, Kobe Hetherington, Jesse Arthars, Tyson Smoothy, Corey Jensen, Deine Mariner, Xavier Willison, Tristan Sailor, and Blake Mozer.
Broncos Coach Kev Walters said Mam’s retention was wonderful for the club, with another crucial player locked down for the long future.
“Ezra is a born-and-bred Bronco and it’s great that he is staying where he belongs,” Walters said.
“He is an entertaining player, but he also enjoys getting in there and doing the hard work for his team.
“We have only scratched the surface on what Ez can do – we’ll keep on working with him to improve his game and I can’t wait to see what we can achieve together over the years ahead.”
