Cheston Blackshear, a former offensive lineman for the Gators, has worked under Billy Napier as an offensive line analyst for the previous two years. However, he is leaving the program to take a position on the field with the Army football staff.

Blackshear, a four-time letter winner, represented the Gators in 41 games during the regular season. Under Steve Spurrier, he took home a national championship in 1996.

Blackshear posted on Twitter, saying, “These last two seasons, serving at my alma mater, has been an honor.” “Words cannot express how deeply proud I am to have been able to return to this outstanding football program.

I would like to thank everyone in Gator Nation from the bottom of my heart. Years ago, I came to this wonderful university and won the National Championship. The fans’ encouragement and support have always been there for me. I shall always be inspired to pursue my goals by your love and support.

Blackshear has held coaching positions at Georgetown, Dartmouth, Columbia, New Mexico, and Nevada. He was greeted to the team on Tuesday by Army head coach Jeff Monken.He declared, “We are honored to have Cheston Blackshear join the Army Football Brotherhood.” “Cheston’s broad experience, ranging from his playing career at Florida to his coaching tenure there, will be a fantastic fit for our culture and add a lot of knowledge, making an immediate impact in our young men’s development.”
