Anthony Leal, a senior guard for Indiana, may have more NIL deals than points this year. That’s what happens when you’re the beloved neighborhood child who everyone looks up to, even from the bench.

Against Ohio State on Tuesday night, Indiana was completely flat. Not just in this game, but throughout their entire season, they are dead in the water. They were trailing by eighteen points, and after a cruel defeat at home to Penn State on Saturday, there was little reason to hope for a miracle.
None. None at all.
But Malik Reneau and Trey Galloway, who finished with 26 and 25 points each, got hot and the Hoosiers started working themselves back into the game. Then, down by two with 32 seconds to go and coming out of a timeout, Galloway drove hard to the basket and drew a double team. Leal, his buddy for years, was all alone in the right corner. Galloway hit him with a perfect pass and Leal’s three-pointer found nothing but net with 22 seconds to go
Of the 14 victories this season, the 76-73 triumph that was sealed with two free throws from Leal in the last seconds was undoubtedly the most improbable. They simply don’t make returns. We haven’t noticed this tendency frequently, but on Tuesday night, we definitely did.
A flat surface. Later, Leal is the one who receives the “clear” call and regains his Indiana pulse. Now that they are 6-6 in the Big Ten, there is still hope. They desperately needed this, as it was their first Quad 1 victory of the year.
